My favourite trail is the Rideau Trail, a 300km long foot path from Ottawa to Kingston. One of my favourite long run routes is on this trail. It starts near Parliament Hill, in Ottawa, and runs to within 2.5km of my front door, making for a nice 20km trip through urban and urban wilderness terrain, 10kms of which run along the Ottawa River.
I volunteer as a trail watcher for the Rideau Trail Association and "my" section is a 12-16km path through the forested areas of the western Greenbelt. I share this path with whitetail deer, porcupines, raccoons and the occasional snapping turtle... and at this time of year, I make time to smell the trilliums on every run. Bliss!

I like Dave's choice. Wolf trail up near Meech Lake in the Gatineau Hills in extraordinary.

The drive up there is great enough, but the views from the near the top are spectacular.

And the trail is a bit like a figure 8 so you can run it in many combinations.

I've had the pleasure of having Dave fly by me on this one as well. He's so fast you can't even believe it.
